Christian, Adieu!

Obituary The Poet's Corner

Christian N. Okolie, Assistant Superintendent of Customs 1 (ASCI)

By Emmanuel Uwah

If tears could bring back dear ones gone,
Then would our own just that have done
As in sorrow we bow our head
For one of us now counted dead!

This was a philanthropic one,
A gentleman well cooked and done
With a character noble so,
And humble, himself counting low!

But waxing stronger in his prime,
Death came to call to halt his time;
And though from our sight he is gone,
Yet within he keeps living on!

Dear Christian N. Okolie,
Your loss is more than we can say!
Our prayer goes along with you
That you wake up to peace, adieu!
