Reversal of inherited Osun education policy yielding results – Govt

Osun State Government has said that the education policy reversal by the Gboyega Oyetola administration is yielding the expected results.

Commissioner for Education, Folorunso Oladoyin made this known while receiving furniture items valued at several millions of naira donated by Apomu Descendants Union to some selected schools in Apomu.

While thanking the Union and Alapomu of Apomu kingdom, Oba Kayode Afolabi for the gesture which he described as very complimentary to Oyetola’s vision to take education to greater heights in Osun, the Commissioner explained that the sector is a money gulping scheme which should not be left alone for government.

He admonished students in Apomu that benefited from the largesse to face their studies and be focused in all they do.

In his speech, the Alapomu of Apomu kingdom, Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi Atoyebi II commended Oyetola’s giant strides in education and other sectors.

On the part of the donor of the furniture items, the royal father urged the union to keep it up just as he advised the beneficiaries to be steadfast and committed to their dreams as leaders of tomorrow.

The Monarch, however, advised the students to make judicious use of the items donated to them by Apomu Descendants Union, Apomu.

Earlier In his welcome address ,the Chairman, Apomu Descendants Union, Engr. Soliu Abass thanked the state government for the reversal of education policy in the state, stating that it will bring more friendly relationship between the government and stakeholders in the education sector.
